Minnesota Military Museum’s 2018 Storyteller Series

Saturday, February 3, 2018

Bloomington, MN

To commemorate our 40th year, the Minnesota Military Museum invites the public to join in a conversation as we welcome four accomplished authors to speak to their respective books on Minnesotans who made history. These new books span a century of service from the Great War to the Global War on Terror.
The books being presented include:

  • Minnesota 1918: When Flu, Fire and War Ravaged the State by Curt Brown (1:00-1:30)
  • War Stories Vol. III: Further Accounts of Minnesotans Who Defended their Nation by Al Zdon (1:30-2:00)
  • Roaring Bull: The 34th Infantry Division in the Global War on Terror by Brian Leehan (2:00-2:30)
  • Leadership and Lessons Learned: The Life and Career of Gen. John Vessey, Jr. by Thomas Saylor (2:30-3:00)

The event will run from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bloomington, MN located at: 1114 American Blvd W, Bloomington, MN 55420. The books by Curt Brown, Brian Leehan, and Al Zdon will be available for sale and signing at the event. All books will be added to the museum’s library collection for use by our patrons once the library opens. There will also be uniforms and related artifacts from the museum collection on display. This event is free and open to the public, though a suggested donation of $5 is appreciated. Please rsvp, via email, to rdietrich@mnmilitarymuseum.org.

HOLES 4 HEROES- Ice Fishing Contest

2018 H4H Poster Header 3

HOLES 4 HEROES is a special Ice Fishing Contest designed to honor our military, both at home and abroad.

In addition to the traditional prize-filled ice fishing tournament, we also set up a unique “Hole of Honor” which features a live video feed so that families of deployed soldiers can ice fish for free while being linked via video to their beloved soldier.

It is our honor to allow all Military members, both current and former, and their immediate family members to attend Holes 4 Heroes for FREE.

We have some fantastic prizes this year, including many door prizes given away throughout the contest.  Prizes are thanks to our generous sponsors such as Clam, Frabill, Aqua-Vu, Strikemaster, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Cabela’s.

You don’t have to be part of the military to join us for this fun event!  Non-Military attendees are just $10 for advance registration, or $15 day-of.
