There is an opening for the position of Dept Trustee which presently is a 3 year position that will become a 2 year position after the May 2018 Dept Convention and a 1 year position after the May 2019 Convention.
Please send via US Mail a short resume about your self, your positions held in the MOPH including any you might hold now and a reason why you would like to fill the position or someone that is in your Chapter would want to fill this position.
Mail all correspondence to MOPH, 20-12th St W, Room 163D, St. Paul, MN 55075. We would like to have all responses by those interested in the Dept hands by the 15th of March at which time an email will be sent out to all Chapter Commanders and or Adjutants with the copies of the letters for a decision to whom you would like to see fill this. Since some Chapters are a distance away and travel may or may not be possible due to weather etc, emails then to the Dept Adjutant with your choice can be made and then an Exec Board meeting will take place to determine who would then fit the position the best.
Special opportunity for Veterans’ groups! Bring your group to Historic Fort Snelling for a free 45-minute, step-on bus tour highlighting many of the important military events that took place there.
The tour will be followed by refreshments and conversation about the upcoming revitalization of this important historic site in 2020.
Tours will begin at 10 am, and will run throughout the day.
To reserve a time slot for your group, or to learn about opportunities to support the Historic Fort Snelling Revitalization Project, please contact Caitlin McGowan at email@example.com.
Monday, March 12th is Veterans Day on the Hill sponsored by the Minnesota Commanders’ Task Force, the United Veterans Legislative Council and the Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers. The rally will take place in the State Capitol Rotunda starting at 10 a.m.
Contained herein is a breakdown for the “Regional Rooms” that will be available for use by
Veterans/supporters following the rally in the rotunda. The idea behind these rooms is to offer
attendees a place to congregate, invite their lawmakers to visit and discuss issues specific to
their region, as well as statewide.
It is our intention to send an invite to lawmakers to stop by these rooms, however, it is highly
recommended that anyone who will be attending also reach out to invite their members to
drop-in. The rooms will be available from 11:00 to 1:30.
Not sure how to contact your lawmaker? Or, unsure who represents you at the state level?
This is in no way intended to discourage anyone from also attempting to set up one-on-one
meetings to advocate. Also, if your area has historically done a room on their own, please don’t
let this effort deter you.
These rooms are available with the understanding the nature of the legislative session is hectic
and it can be difficult to find your elected officials (even with an appointment) if votes are
called for, hearings called, etc… These rooms will give them a two-hour window to stop by and
hear from their constituents.
If these rooms split a group, bus, post or chapter please select whichever you feel will be the
best for your group, or send a delegation to both rooms, whichever you prefer. These are
general areas and who is where is flexible.
